Telecommunications - Embarq - 800-436-2777 (Residential)
Embarq provides the communications services for this community with state-of-the-art technology. Lexington's central office is a giber fed Nortel digital switch that provides all custom calling features including call waiting, call forwarding, 3-way calling, caller ID with name and voice mail. Bundled packages are available making these services more cost effective. Equal accesses as well as ISDN and Internet services are also available.

Aquila provides electric and natural gas service to customers in Lexington and the surrounding areas.

Water - U.S. Water - 660-259-2912
Water is supplied and distributed by U.S. Water Company. The source of water is the Missouri River. The water system's maximum capacity is 1, 250,000 gallons per day. Average consumption is 560,000 gallons per day with peak consumption at 700,000 gallons per day. The system has a storage capacity of 250,000 gallons per day.

Lexington has a Planning & Zoning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission that handle zoning requests for the city. Lafayette County has a Planning and Zoning Commission that addresses the needs of the unincorporated areas of the county.
