On behalf of the citizens of Lexington, Council members and City employees, we invite you to visit our beloved City of Lexington, Missouri.
We are very proud of Lexington, with its rich history, beautiful homes and fine churches. Lexington is a unique and charming town situated on the Missouri River. You will find our city filled with wondrous sites, enchanting antique and specialty shops and stunning architecture. But Lexington is hardly a community with a great past and no future. Lexington is poised for great growth. The renovation of our downtown continues, with the addition of new antique shops, restaurants and a multiplex theatre complex. The new Missouri River Bridge and highway have expanded business opportunities for Lexington. Growth can be seen in new housing developments and new businesses.
Here you will find something special for everyone – young and old alike. Lexington is a vibrant and exciting community, with many things to see and do. We welcome the opportunity to share Lexington and all it has to offer with visitors and tourists who should prepare for a wonderful experience.
With our small-town atmosphere, amazing historic attractions, modern facilities and a variety of entertainment, Lexington is truly a “one of a kind” city. It is our hope that you will come for the history… and stay for a great experience.
Sincerely,
Tom Hayes, Mayor
Since 1948 the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce has led the business community's efforts to create a more prosperous region for all. Today, the Lexington Area Chamber is made up of the area's leading businesses, churches and civic organizations. With nearly 200 member companies, we are the largest business association in Lafayette County and the only local chamber with a regional scope. Our shared vision is "a thriving region in a competitive world." We work toward that goal in three major ways:
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
We participate with business, government, religious and community leaders and stay focused on the region's top business, civic and social priorities.BUSINESS ADVOCACY
We champion and promote essential business interests to improve prosperity and the quality of life in our urban and rural communities.CONNECTIONS AND RESOURCES
We provide member-driven services to help individual businesses grow and succeed.Membership is open to all companies interested in doing business in the region. It is also open to churches and civic groups who support our quality of life in and around Lexington.
The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce has been working in tandem with our Economic Development Initiative and the Bureau of Tourism to strengthen our community, encourage growth and identify needs and opportunities of the business community. While helping nearly 200 member businesses guard their futures, we want to keep the Lexington area a great place to work, live and raise a family.
